Oh, the militarization of the police is a whole different thing

The LA bank robbery required better weapons, but that incident took the militarization of the police to extremes along surplus military equipment from are wars being handed out for free.

I can see big cities having more, especially with the potential threat of multiple terrorists cells attacking at the same time, but rural America is different.

My post had nothing to do with militarization of the police but on how things should be handle which align with you and your police friend both depending on the circumstances.
