I didn't say you are twisting yourself to make Comey a scapegoat.

But you're twisting yourself creatively to find any scapegoat, other than Trump, for Trump's problems - in this case the perception that he puts anything Trump ahead of country. And you're crying buckets about it in a way that would make all the "Resistors" blush.

Whatever you'd like to speculate regarding Trump's true meaning behind his campaign cheers for the Russians, the fact is, he cheered on the Russians, in a way that Trumpies would see as treason if it were Hill, but I get that since it was your guy, you look hard for the nuances. I'm all about nuances, but the fact remains that Trump started the narrative, and then he escalated the narrative, turning it into reality. Of course he was providing fodder for his political adversaries, which is how it works. It wasn't the media's doing, it was his doing. Whine about it all you want - Trump is basically flying around on a broomstick while complaining about a witch hunt.

The inaugural crowd nonsense stands out as an amazing example of "His Orangeness - the Reality Show", because that's how he chose to launch his relationship with the press. Psst - the left didn't bring it up, and the right didn't even bring it up. He brought it up. Yeah, that's an example that will probably outlive his presidency - it will probably prove to be one of the defining moments of his presidency. It attached the word "bullshit" to his presidency before it was even 24 hours old. I mean, Hillary isn't even relevant anymore and you can't get off her email server, but you think critics of Trump need to stop bringing this up? Ain't gonna happen, and you wouldn't leave it alone in the shoes of anti-Trumpies. Just like they will never leave "alternative facts" alone.

They're peas in the same pod - a president who assaults truth as fake news when he doesn't like it, gets his minions to mindlessly repeat the fake news meme, while making every excuse imaginable for his own assertion of complete falsehoods. His admin coined a phrase for it - "alternative facts". Facts are facts. Alternative facts are lies. For those of us not drunk on orange koolaid, when it comes to fake news, "he who smelt it dealt it" actually does apply in the Trump era (and the maturity level of the statement fits nicely with the WH as well).
