Textile mills? The evidence says more the latter.
With respect to NAFTA, this says our textile exports to NAFTA countries has gone up dramatically in recent years.
One of the reasons I really hate this populist fearmongering stuff. It is just used by publications like Breitbart and demagogues like Trump (and, tbh, Sanders) to manipulate people. But anyone who thinks towns like Danville are ever going to thrive on blue collar manufacturing jobs again needs his head examined — there is still production, its just 10 guys with college degrees working machines instead of 3,000 laborers working the floor.
