Man, I have a hard time seeing anyone but Sanders losing the general.
Outside of Trump's core base, which is at most 20-25% of the country, I think he's pretty toxic. I think all you need is a candidate that acts like an adult, and isn't proposing a complete and total economic change in direction for the country.
After 2016, I guess all bets are off, and I could be completely off base, but keying off of the post below about Sander's proposal for national rent controls... I can envision Trump's campaign running juxtaposed campaign rhetoric of Chavez and his socialist policies in Venezuela and Bernie's fiery campaign rhetoric of rent controls, breaking up big companies, the evil rich, etc, etc, with footage of the chaos that is now Venezuela with sinister music running in the background. It doesn't matter than it's not an accurate comparison -- Sanders has already labeled himself as a socialist -- I'd bet it will work in scaring the beejeezus out of a lot of people.
