Not the greatest generation, but all current generations
Some of it is religion.
It is a sin, and not a small sin.
I have a friend who is one of the most religious people I have ever met. He was a road warrior for the same company as I traveling every week. When on the road, he would not miss a bible study because he would find the closest church of his denomination and find which days have bible study.
We had great conversations on religion and I vividly remember asking him about gays and his religion. Without missing a beat, here is a summary of what he said.
1) Yes he believe being gay was a major sin according to his religious beliefs and the bible itself.
2) The bible also says do not judge others, so he will not judge gays and will treat gays like anyone else.
3) Judgement is reserve for his God.
This man talk the talk, but most importantly walk the walk. I think how he resolve it explains what I knew about him (we are good friends) and just made so much sense.
Lastly, I try not judge someone's religious beliefs unless it is the Church of Trump.
