Well, when the availability of the tool is the primary difference between
the US with a gun homicide rate that is 5-20x that of Europe and rates of mass shootings that are even higher relative to Europe, I tend to conclude availability of the tool is a major part of the problem.
And trucks and planes are not created for the expressed purpose of killing people as effectively as possible and inflicting the maximum possible damage to the human body. An AR15 is.
If Ford made a truck that was specifically optimized for mowing down civilians or if boeing made an airplane specifically designed to be crashed into buildings and inflict maximum damage, then yes, I might blame the "assault truck" or the "assault plane" when it is used very effectively for its expressed purpose.
