Well, your second paragraph has a mistruth in it.
AR-15's are not designed to kill, but wound. Same as the the M-16a2. Caliber is too small and the bullets too fast. It's a force multiplier. I know this sounds insane, but it is true. The M16a2 was designed to wound the enemy.
And your first is somewhat deceptive. Although Europe has less firearm related crimes does not mean it is safer. For instance, take a look at the crime rates in UK. They are substantially higher.
There are 265 million+ guns in the US. There were 11k homicides from firearms in 2013(latest data I could find easily). Do you realize that comes to a .0000429 chance per gun it will be in a homicide. In comparison, there are 363 million cars and 1.3 million die in fatal crashes. That's a .0035 percent death per car. Point being, assholes like in Sandy Hook and Miami are a statistical anomoly. Not something you punish the other 99.9999% percent for. [Post edited by hoothat at 02/20/2018 10:17PM]
