We shouldn't be in the business of fixing countries.


I think that is especially true in parts of the world with no tradition of liberal democracy, human/religious rights, or enlightenment. They don't share those characteristics with us and in some ways are resentful of them.

Some country or other has been trying to "fix" Afghanistan for the last 150 years and Iraq for the last 100 years.

I will return your question back to you, how long should we spend our treasure and the lives of our soldiers/sailors/airmen in such a place and more importantly to what end?
