It was a bullshit argument in Iraq on multiple fronts. Leaving out the

misrepresentation of intelligence, anyone well versed in history would know taking out a secular dictator created a good chance for a worse situation in an area plagued by ethnic and religious strife. There was the Kurdish genocide in the late 80s, but clearly that was not a part of the calculus for the 2003 invasion. Now ISIL is empowered and cleansing Yazidis. Same shit in Syria if you transition Assad militarily.
