I think we've moved to a place where when a pres is from one party and the other controls the senate, any SC vacancies will simply remain vacant until control aligns.

Probably one of the best things we could do is introduce term limits for SC justices. Maybe all appointed justices.

But my larger point, and I think Sith's, is nobody us ever presumed guilty under the law, and thus in he said/she said cases, it is awfully dangerous to decide the one to believe is always based on gender. The key is to ensure that accusers are provided with a safe, dignified, respectful arena to be heard (I'm sure we still have a way to go to get there).

The problem you have with Trump is that he was elected in spite of the evidence of his misogyny. I share that issue, among many other qualities that I think should make him unelectable. That we have to deal with now through 2020. Which is how it's supposed to be IMO.
