From an appearance point of view as a celebrity who has apparently

done what he has done as a complete fabrication, he has gotten egg
on the face of a lot of Politicians that immediately believed his story.
Bad optics for a lot of people. I just scratch my head as to why he
decided to try this. I read today that he even alerted FBI or some law
enforcement agency the week before that he was getting menacing,
threatening letters and an attack on his person may be imminent.
It borderlines on nothing burger to me as well. Timing terrible.
