Why would I want to take on new, complicated patients that pay less?

When I already don't have time to take care of the needs of my existing patients?

Physician assistants can't practice independently in any state. Nurse practioners can practice independently in a handful of states, but generally practice as part of a physician group.

Even if practicing independently, what is their incentive to see new Medicaid patients when the reimbursement rate is can be worse than any other form of insurance?
