Much like creating a crisis of Healthcare to finally get Medicaid for All?
Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security all do need to be addressed one way or another all on their own. They need to be addressed on the spending and/or payroll taxes funding them side, no matter what is done elsewhere.
Any discussion about spending problems and deficit issues that doesn't address those three (and excessive military spending) isn't serious discussion about the debt problems we do and will face.
Conflating that with "tax breaks for the rich", ridiculously normalizing $1T deficits, etc. only distracts us from the fact that those problems are very real and need to be addressed.
