I think I understand job interviews having interviewed and hired
hundreds of candidates in my career. I can say with certainty that I wouldn't consider a single, unsubstantiated claim from 36 or 37 years ago against an otherwise qualified 53 year old applicant from when he was in HIGH SCHOOL to be a "red flag". In fact, I wouldn't consider it at all. Particularly when there have been no such "red flags" in the 35 years he has lived as an adult.
