I honestly totally get that. There's really no parallel that you can draw
with the Kavanaugh situation because in any situation other than a very high level political appointment, there would be no way an accusation from 36 years ago in high school would EVER surface. But yeah, if there was someone for which there were rumors about their impropriety with women -- even if there was no evidence to substantiate the rumors -- I can totally see a law firm (or any firm for that matter) passing on that candidate. There's no need to take on that risk.
As an aside, while there's no way for a high school accusation from 36 years ago to come to anyone's attention except in the highest profile of situations, if you fast forward 36 years into the future, everyone will have a digital record of their high school years. All the more reason to be very careful what you post online....
